Object of Space

Object of Space is a modified marine sextant to a performative object. Object is held and through the mirrors celestial objects(stars, moon) are observed. View on the horizon lines up with the celestial body on the mirror and the object shows the angular height of the celestial body. This angle informs the user about his position on earth. Rather than a numerical value, realization of the relation with other objects, horizon, earth and sky, turns this navigational instrument to a tool to center the soul, creating the present state of mind.

Brass, walnut, mirrors. Exhibited in exhibition Coordinates at 28s Wabash during May 2015. Accompanied by Object of Time.
